“Artists are just children who refuse to put down their crayons.”
- Al Hirschfeld
My name is Emily, aka the Hippy Girl & I feel the above quote sums up me & my artist’s heart best. I never wanted to stop coloring because crayons for me were such a great representation of all the magnificent colors that I found in the world around me. The Hippy Girl jewelry shop has been a culmination of many years of dreaming for a way to find an outlet for my artistic endeavors. I am truly blessed to be in a position where I can use those crayon colors to dream up jewelry designs & then share them with others through my online store.
I have always enjoyed a variety of creative outlets & crafting throughout my life. My favorite of those has been dabbling with different types of jewelry making. I love to wear jewelry & to accessorize, so it was natural to want to experiment with making it. The Hippy Girl was started through the encouragement of my sweet husband, Charles insisting that I should find an outlet to sell my jewelry because he believed in my talent. I was lucky enough to stumble across the website Etsy, where there is a wonderful network of crafters just like me who have a passion for making things & sharing them with the world.
Right now I maintain this little on-line shop in addition to a fulltime HR & Marketing day job, so it definitely keeps my busy, but I truly believe it also keeps me balanced. At the end of a long day there is nothing I love more than sitting down at my jewelry table & dreaming up creations to share with others.
I believe that jewelry is one of the things that make being a girl fun!! We get to accessories & spice up an outfit, all the while expressing ourselves through these items. My sincere hope is that everyone that visits my shop is able to find something that strikes a cord with their personal style. I am constantly updating with new items & dreaming up new creations, so please keep The Hippy Girl in mind when looking for that special accessory for your life!
