Tess Haranda

Tess Haranda has been coaching since the fall of 2007.  She completed a coaching training program with Coach U  (Coach, Inc.) called Core Essentials and is currently in progress to attain her Associate Certified Coach credential (ACC) from the International Coaching Federation.

She has worked in the corporate world in the IT, telecommunication, and manufacturing industries, working for both large and small organizations.  Her passion has always been working with people, which prompted the start of her coaching practice.  She also writes - she has a monthly column in her local PTO newsletter and is writing a book.

Tess jokes that her major and minor in college (Speech Communication, Technical Writing) were perfect for helping her and others in interviews and resume writing.  Her success rate is 100% in and helping clients with their resume coaching them into new jobs. Her only client that took as long as 7 months for the new job was a teacher who had to follow hiring schedules for school districts for a fall placement.

Her ideal client is ready for success, ready to see progress, and ready to do what it takes to make good things happen.  Clients normally hire her as their coach for 3-12 months.  Some call in weekly for coaching, and some call in for special target coaching when they most need it.

Here are her words to her clients:

My coaching is designed for people who are excited and serious about reaching their goals, overcoming obstacles, and having the life they dream of.  I love working with people who are eager to take the daily and weekly steps necessary towards their goals, open to learning about themselves, and who are fully engaged in the coaching process (which is also a learning process).

I appreciate working with people who like to work hard and look to me to ask the tough questions and support them, but who do not expect me to “fix it” for them or tell them what to do. I can’t fix it, fix you, or give you the right answers for you.  That’s what we work out together in our calls.

I expect people to “show up” to our calls, to be committed to working on our plans, to be open to trying new things, and to be honest with me about what’s working and what’s not.

She is a proud mother, avid reader, and hip bellydancer!  She encourages mothers to live their lives fully because they can't be strong mothers if they aren't strong women first.
