I am the principal/owner of Smithson Bookkeeping & Business Services.  We started out in the San Jose, CA area but moved to Reno, NV about 4 years ago.  I started my business about 15 years ago so that I could make some money and still stay home with my baby.  Well, he is now in high school and we (my wonderful husband & I) have a successful business helping other small business owners take care of the financial part of their businesses.

Smithson Bookkeeping provides general bookkeeping services, i.e. Accounts Payable; Accounts Receivable; Bank Deposits and reconciliations; Payroll preparation services (including tax deposits and quarterly reporting).  We also provide general administrative services such as file organization/maintenance and correspondence.  Thanks to e-mail, fax machines and the internet, we don’t even have to live in the same area. 

Small business is our specialty.  We serve a variety of businesses in multiple industries.  We save our clients money because we work only when required.  There are no benefits or employer taxes to be paid.  We are efficient, thorough and understand the confidential nature of the work we do.  We make tax time easier for you and your CPA.

I am recognized as a Certified Bookkeeper through the American Institute of Professional Bookkeepers, which has its own professional code of ethics and continuing education requirements.  Staying up to date on changes in my profession is highly important to me.
