Angie Kopshy, MM, MT-BC
Angie Kopshy loves music and was
blessed with the opportunity to begin studying piano at a young age.
While teaching, performing and songwriting, Angie volunteered in the
community on the side. It became clear that music and helping others,
her two greatest passions, could be united through Music Therapy.
Kopshy received a Master's in Piano from Boise State
University before returning to Portland, Oregon, to pursue Music
Therapy at Marylhurst University. Angie completed her internship in
Portland, Oregon, where she currently works as Board-Certified Music
Therapist. In addition to providing private piano lessons to
individuals, Kopshy is the owner and manager of Music Therapy
Services of Portland.
Music Therapy Services of Portland is able to assist persons of all backgrounds and currently specializes in promoting greater communication and emotional identification for persons with autism. It is our belief that by enabling and encouraging greater spontaneous communication, persons with autism will discover their own methods for successful communication. Another primary goal, based on the belief that anxiety is closely connected to autism, is to assist people on the autism spectrum with finding ways in which to identify and work through stressors with adaptive coping techniques.
